SHE REACHED INTO HER BACK

She reached into her back

pocket, and pulled

out

the thin

white, paper

napkin she remembered

she

still

had

from

the diner, and blew

her nose. The human

sound echoed off the stones

and the glass and the rafters

of the empty

hall.

She waited for someone

to arrive, as she

practiced

her

true

smile.
